Religion Based Questions
Why did not our Gurus that traveled all around the country and also
parts of the world from China to Turkey establish Khalistan? Were they wrong
then?
Guru Sahib
created autonomous areas. What was Anandpur Sahib? What was Kiratpur Sahib,
Kartarpur Sahib, Khadur Sahib, Goindwal Sahib? All these towns were established
by Guru Sahib and run according to Sikh principles. What was the need if Sikhi
is only spiritual? Sikh Gurus had towns which they managed, had their own army,
their own flag and Sikhs called Guru Sahib "Sacha Paatshah" or True King. Was
this not establishing a rule?
Guru Sahib
has taught us to become rational and moral beings. Gurbani is not a rule book.
Gurbani has no set of rules on many issues such as abortion, cloning, euthanasia
etc. If something is not addressed in Gurbani it does not becomes anti-Sikhi.
Mission of Guru Sahib is to unite the humanity which can only be done via Sikhi.
A country is the need not a destiny. Guru Sahib taught us to fight injustice. He
taught us to live as Sikhs, as liberators not as Hindus. His mission is all
about freedom. Guru Nanak Sahib was the greatest freedom fighter ever. He freed
the humanity from mental slavery of Islam and Hindu rituals. He taught us to
sacrifice for truth and raise arms. Guru Sahib’s mission was not to create a
country but to rid the humanity of injustices, oppression and discrimination.
Sikhs are doing exactly the same. They are fighting for freedom and the only
solution for us to have complete freedom is to have a separate homeland.
Khalistan is about dignity and honor which we deserve to have. Then how is it
against Sikhi? Can there be freedom, and practice of Sikhi without a country?
No. No religion can ever flourish and spread without the power of Raj. When Guru
Sahib said “Raj Karega Khalsa” He meant the entire world will be ruled by Khalsa.
This Raj must begin somewhere. In my opinion, Khalistan will be the beginning of
Khalsa Raj and slowly it will spread. What we need to understand is that Guru
Sahib never spoke against the concept of Raj. He established Akal Takhat Sahib,
a political sovereignty of Sikhs. He gave us our own language script, Holy
Scripture, way of life, dress, ceremonies, festivals, and Nishaan Sahib that
makes the Sikhs a separate nation. What is missing is a homeland for the Sikh
nation. Every nation needs a homeland. Sikhs need Khalistan.
The Gurus never used the word ‘Khalistan’.
This
argument does not prove that there is no need for Khalistan. Sikhs need
sovereignty. Name can be changed. Punjab is one of the states in Khalistan. The
Gurus never used the word but that does not mean they never fought for freedom
and truth. Guru Ji always lived a free life and instructed Sikhs to do the same.
Sikhs are fighting not for a single word but for their identity and religion.
They are fighting for freedom. Not supporting Khalistan just because of the
unlikeness of this word is nothing but foolishness.
Will
Khalistan allow the free expression of religion regardless of people's beliefs?
Freedom of religion has always been allowed in Gurmat. Guru Sahib sacrificed his
life for freedom of religion. Sikhs will never inflict the pain and sufferings
they faced themselves. There are Sikhs living in many countries that have many
restrictions on Sikhi. USA does not allow Kirpans. UAE does not allow hosting
Nishaan Sahib. If Khalistan puts some restrictions then it doesn’t jeopardize
its survival. The government will have a final say on this.
It
is difficult to think of anything happening with Punjab politics without some
form of corruption involved. The same goes for the SGPC, which runs the Akaal
Takht, the highest throne of the Sikhs. How will you weed out corruption which
is so ingrained into the Punjabi lifestyle and mindset?
As long as corruption has its root in the higher level (central government) it
cannot be rooted out from lower level. Indian government is highly involved in
Sikh politics. When Sikhs come into power they will ensure that things are run
as per the teachings of Guru Sahib. SGPC’s responsibility is to manage Gurdwaras
not run Akal Takhat Sahib. So definitely it will be restricted to just that. At
one time SGPC had honest and true Sikhs as leaders. Government can root out and
root in the corruption. There are numerous examples in the world for us to look
at.
Why
don't we just consider the whole world as ours?
When Guru
Gobind Singh Ji established Khalsa Panth He called it “Khalsa of Waheguru”. In
other words, Khalsa belongs to Waheguru and Waheguru belongs to Khalsa. If
Khalsa belongs to Waheguru then consequently Khalsa belongs not only to the
world but the entire creation in which Waheguru Himself resides. From these
meanings we only come to the conclusion that we (the Khalsa, the army of
Waheguru) are and must be the ruler of the entire creation which directly
supports the idea of Khalistan. Our rule on the world will not come over night.
It must start somewhere. Might as well be our Punjab.
If we
consider the world our “homeland” literally then why doesn’t the same apply to
the rest of the humanity? Why are only Sikhs obligated to jeopardize their
dignity, honor of Gurdwaras and women and survival of their religion and live
under foreign rule? Should the other countries not eliminate boundary limits,
international laws of sea and air and embrace the entire world as their own
homeland? USA wants to expand their control over sea and air and it seems to be
working well for them. If we should consider the entire world as our homeland
then should we not have a plan as to how to go about conquering it? Why not
start at a smaller scale? Rule Punjab, then India, then Pakistan and slowly
expand Khalsa rule. Once the entire world is under Khalsa rule and embraces
Sikhi there will not be any need of boundaries and divisions.
Let’s take
the statement literally that Sikhs belong to the entire world and do not need a
separate independent country. Assuming this is true then we must also agree that
every single Sikh belongs to the entire world as well. If every single Sikh
should consider the world his home then he should have no need to build a house
that provides shelter for him, his family and children. This would render every
Sikh in the world homeless just like our entire community. The argument fails on
a single person then how can we apply it to the entire community? Even if a Sikh
believes that the world is his home does it mean he has no need for a house that
could provide shelter for his family? If no then why does the same not apply to
the entire community? Purpose of a separate country is to ensure our survival,
and safeguard our Gurdwaras and honor of our women which was openly maligned in
1984. We are not trying to separate ourselves from the rest of the world.
Instead, we are trying to start a beginning of Khalsa era that would not only
ensure the safety of our religion and heritage but protect other countries from
their “enemies”. Khalsa fights for truth and will always defend the truth. Guru
Ji considered the entire world as His own and by His grace the entire world
shall become His. Neither India nor any other country in the world can do
anything to stop this. |
